  • Schiphol's financial function is developing into a Trusted Advisor and Digital Finance organization. Our finance operating model is built around three core areas of responsibility; Be a Navigator, Create Insights and Ensure Compliance. 
  • In this role, you actively contribute to the Finance Business Partnering activities developments across SSE/AO&AP (security, safety and airport operations) organizational units and provide added value to the development of the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function.

  • As a Business Insights Controller you are responsible for creating insights within Finance. With your hands on mentality and being action oriented, you will:
  • Provide one version of the truth of data to deliver reliable performance management information
  • Combine structured and unstructured financial and non-financial data to provide valuable analyzes and fact-based (future) insights
  • Contribute to modeling scenarios based on key business and performance drivers 
  • Advise on risks and opportunities, co-create possible solutions based on the various data sources as a result of analyses
  • Be responsible for the planning and performance management cycle within the SSE and AO&AP

We are looking for a finance professional who can make an important contribution to professionalizing the financial planning and analysis processes within Schiphol, by incorporating and recognizing the value of modern FP&A and digital initiatives in steering our business financial planning and performance cycle. 

You've got this

In addition to the skills of business controller we are looking for someone who has:  

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience combined with academic thinking and working level (professional certifications such as RC/CIMA/CMA is a plus)
  • Knowledge of and affinity with data management systems, analytics and dashboarding
  • Hands on and action oriented, focused on delivering results
  • Strong analytical skills and challenger mindset
  • Effective building of relationships, leveraging different communication and influencing techniques 
  • Valid work permit for the Netherlands
  • Business fluent English and Dutch

The FP&A team is responsible for making analyses, translating business specific data and information to be used for broader organizational purposes and providing (actionable) insights. We are the point of contact for insights questions where financial and non-financial information come together for all organizational units (Aviation and non-Aviation).
